Daniel M. Perez was appointed to the Board of Trustees on April 9, 2014. A trial and appellate lawyer with offices in Newton, New Jersey, his practice concentrates in criminal, municipal and constitutional matters.
Prior to relocating to New Jersey in 2009, he was the managing partner of Kuby & Perez, LLP in New York City, a high-profile criminal defense and civil rights firm. He was an Adjunct Professor of Law at Fordham Law School, where he taught negotiation skills, and presently is a member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Over the course of nearly two decades, he has tried approximately twenty-five cases to verdict, argued and briefed more than fifty appeals, and litigated over a hundred civil causes in state and federal courts. He received his Bachelor of Arts, with honors, in English and Political Science from Rutgers University, and his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law.
Before his appointment to the Board of Trustees, Dan was the vice president of the Frankford Township Board of Education. A proud Eagle Scout, Dan enjoys beekeeping and riding his motorcycle. He lives with his family in Frankford Township.
