Program Description
Medical assistants are multi-skilled health professionals specifically educated to work in ambulatory settings performing administrative and clinical duties. The practice of medical assisting directly influences the public’s health and well-being, and requires mastery of a complex body of knowledge and specialized skills requiring both formal education and practical experience that serve as standards for entry into the profession.* The combination of these skills, plus many others, makes the medical assistant an indispensable part of a healthcare organization. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam from the American Association of Medical Assistants. Stuedents who successfully complete the Phlebotomy and EKG sections of the MA program will also be eligible to sit for the national certification exams through the NHA(National Healthcareers Association), finishing with three professional certificates in total. |
