This option under the AA in Liberal Arts prepares students for transfer to a four-year
College with a major in Broadcasting. A Broadcasting major can also serve as a basis for careers in the radio or television production fields, including, camera operation, sports and news production, directing, editing, audio production, lighting, advertising, copywriting and management.
Students majoring in Broadcasting at Sussex County Community College are given the opportunity to work in a TV studio environment and gain practical experience in lighting, studio and field camera operation, electronic graphics, and producing a program. Emphasis is given to digital video editing with systems such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere. Students seeking a career in radio will gain the basic understanding of the industry and experience in audio production and station operation.
