5-11-2012 - This year, three spring sports athletes were selected to the Region XIX All Region Teams.  Players were selected by coaches around the region who voted their choices for each position.  All three athletes were strong leaders for their teams on and off the field. Kyle Tomkins was the only player selected from the Skylanders baseball program, and he was voted to the Region XIX 2nd Team ALL Region.   Tomkins, an infielder for Sussex, compiled a respectable batting average of .382 with 50 hits in 131 at-bats.  Tomkins also drove in a team leading 26 RBI's and lead the team ...[Read More]

3/6/2012 - COACHES Head Coach -  Rick Roder – 1st year (9th year with program) Rick is a 1994 graduate of Lenape Valley Regional H.S.  Rick captained the Skylanders baseball team in 96’, 97’ before finishing his career at The College of New Jersey in 99’.  He came on under former Head Coach Todd Poltersdorf as the Infield Coach and quickly moved up the ranks taking over for Bernie Noviskey and Tom Hubmaster as Hitting, Infield, Catching and eventually Assistant Head Coach before taking over in July 2011. June 9, 2011  In what has become a common theme at Sussex County Community College, a group of Skylanders' student-athletes have qualified to become National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Academic All-Americans. This year however, the group is larger than usual, with ten Skylanders earning the prestigious recognition.  Ten Skylanders representing five of the six sports offered at SCCC will officially be honored with the Academic All-American title later this summer when the NJCAA publishes the names of those who achieved the necessary qualifications.  Women's soccer under Head Coach Oscar Ortiz is reposnsible for half of the SCCC contingent of Academic All-Americans. 5/14/11 SCCC - 5, Mercer CCC - 6 The Skylanders season came to an end today as Sussex faced Mercer County Community College in the loser's bracket game of the Region XIX Finals at Mercer County Community College in Trenton, NJ. Both Sussex and Mercer battled for the chance to meet Lackawanna College in the Region XIX Division II Championship Finals, but it was the MCCC Vikings that held off SCCC to advance.
