Patrick McNamera from Sussex County Community College, has been named GSAC Player of the Week for the week of January 26.  Patrick, a graduate from Hopatcong HS, led the Skylanders to a 1-1 record by averaging 20 points  and 11 rebounds and 5 assists in the two games with a high of 26 points in a 77-71 loss to Middlesex CC.   In Sussex’s victory over Cumberland CC, Patrick led the Skylanders with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. Congratulations to the men’s basketball team on their exciting 79-75 victory over Bergen CC Tuesday night in the Skylander gym.  The Skylanders were led in scoring by Joe Lopes (Dover HS grad) 19 pts and Tyler Nichols (Wallkill Valley grad) 15 points.  In addition, Kodie Hilbert (Wallkill Valley grad) broke the career record for 3 point baskets made and now has 112 three pointers made in his career.  Kodie finished tonight’s game with 10 points.  The Skylanders next travel to Brookdale CC on Sat Feb 7 for a noon tip-off.  The Skylander’s final home game of the season will be ...[Read More]

12/16/2014 - The Sussex County Community College men's basketball team overcame a 21 point deficit to defeat Orange CCC 59-57 scoring the winning basket with 2.4 seconds remaining.  The Skylanders found themselves down 23-2 midway through the first half with Orange controlling the run of play.  Sussex then rallied to outscore Orange 39-25 in the second half to complete the comeback.  Tyler Nichols (Wallkill Valley HS) was the leading scorer with 19 points, followed by Patrick McNamera (Hopatcong HS) with 16 points.
