5/16/2014 - Six student athletes qualified as Academic All Americans for the 2013-2014 academic year.  The criteria for an Academic All American is to have at least 3 full time semesters, at least 45 cumulative credits, and a cumulative GPA of 3.60 or higher. Developmental/remedial coursework is not included to meet the requirements. There are 3 categories for the academic award: Pinnacle (4.0 GPA), Superior (3.80-3.99 GPA), and Exemplary (3.60-3.79 GPA). 4/23/2014 - Kelsee Tironi and Craig Tomkins both received the Athletic Council Student Excellence Award for the 2013-2014 academic year. Both students were returning players for basketball, while Kelsee also competed in women's soccer. Craig Tomkins (Belvidere HS) was team’s MVP for 2012-2013 as well as the 2013-2014 seasons.  He was named captain his sophomore year and averaged 19 PPG where he ranked in the top 40 of the nation. Kelsee Tironi breaks records for career points and career successful 3pt attempts

3/6/2014 - Last week, the SCCC Athletic Department recognized Kelsee Tironi for breaking the school record for career points and career 3-pointers made by adding her name to the leader board outside of the Gym in Building E.  Tironi (Wallkill Valley HS) surpassed Katie Hartigan (Wallkill Valley HS) for career points by scoring 741 in her two years playing here.  Kelsee also successfully made 147 3-point attempts in those two years.   [caption id="attachment_18384" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Kelsee Tironi breaks records for career points and career successful 3pt attempts"][/caption] [Read More]

December 20, 2013 – Sussex County Community College has named  Kelsee Tironi Woman Student Athlete of the Year and has selected her to represent the college at the National Association of Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS) recognition day to be held on February 9th, at Seton Hall University.  Each year, NAGWS asks all 2 and 4-year New Jersey colleges to select a female student athlete to represent their institution.  Last year and this year, Kelsee participated on SCCC’s women’s soccer team and women’s basketball team.  She has demonstrated leadership and athletic ability on the field and is a two semester ...[Read More]
