1/10/2012 - 23 Student Athletes who participated in this year's fall and winter sports teams received academic honors. Region XIX of the NJCAA and the Garden State Athletic Conference recognize students for achieving a grade point average of at least a 3.0 during their season of competition. Students who achieve a 3.25 grade point average are selected to the Region XIX All Academic Team.
Athletic Director John Kuntz stated, "We are extremely proud of these student athletes. It is a huge challenge to balance commitment to the team and to academics, and that is exactly what these students have done."

Kerry Mulligan will be attending the 2012 National Association for Girls and Women in Sports (NAGWS) Celebration after having been named Sussex County Community College’s (SCCC) Woman of the Year. The ceremony will be held on January 22nd at Seton Hall University and will recognize nominated female athletes from high schools, two-year colleges, and four-year institution in New Jersey to choose one overall female to honor. The association has been around since 1899 progressing the athletic opportunities for women such as in school funding of female teams. 10/21/2011 - It was a roller coaster season for the women's soccer team this year. After starting the season 0-5 overall, the Skylanders endured their worst start under the tutelage of coach Oscar Ortiz. The women's soccer team turned it around, however, in the second half of the season winning 7 out of their last 11 games to give themselves a chance to qualify for the region playoffs.

10/04/2011 - The Skylanders have had a tough start to the season this year. With record setting rain throughout the season making it impossible to play games consistently, let alone practice outside, and with injuries to key players, the Skylanders sure felt that the sun would never come out when they started the year 0-5.
However, since then, they have won 4 out of their last five games and won the Nassau Tournament hosted in Long Island, NY. SCCC returning sophomore and captain Sarah Mallatratt showcased her leadership abilities on the field with 3 goals and 3 assists throughout the tournament. ...[Read More]
