DENTAL RADIOLOGY: Course # ZZZ606A1

This program is designed for those already working in the dental field, who are seeking New Jersey Dental Radiology licensure, although it is open to anyone interested in obtaining this certification. This 70-hour program is approved by the NJ Technology Board of Examiners and includes the following: processing, quality assurance, radiation biology and safety, radiographic interpretation, and intra and extra oral exposure techniques. The laboratory portion (20 hours) includes mannequin simulation. The clinical portion (25 hours or until competencies are fully met) will be obtained through patient experience in a private dental office that has been identified by the student and approved by the NJ State Department of Environmental Protection. The college has offices to place students, in the event the student is unable to complete clinical hours where desired. Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to sit for their licensure exam through the Dental Assisting National Board and apply to the State of NJ for licensure.
