SCCC Rescues New Year’s Resolutions

NEWTON, NJ—Sussex County Community College (SCCC) is offering courses to take you through the cold weather months and accomplish some of those New Year’s Resolutions.

Beginning in early February, Jane Annunziata offers a 3-session course in “Money Smarts”, a program emphasizing financial goals, budgeting, consumer rights, and understanding investment options. Who couldn’t use some “Money Smarts” in today’s economy?

“Yoga for Weight Loss”, led by fitness pro, Laura Fagan, and held at her Yoga for You studio in Lafayette Village, lasts seven sessions, starting January 28. “Yoga for Weight Loss” will help to take off the pounds, as well as the stress. Go a step further, and enroll in Carter Volz’s Reiki Certification course. Reiki is an ancient oriental system of natural holistic healing. Students learn to acquire and use energy to empower body, mind, and spirit.

For those looking for a new career, Keith Utter runs the Uniform Construction Code Program, approved by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA). Earn licensure to be a Building Inspector or Construction Official. Topics covered include structural design, analysis techniques, legal aspects of code enforcement, and subcode responsibilities.

Medical Assistant is the Number One career to watch in 2013, according to Yahoo!.Education. SCCC’s Health Sciences division offers certification in a variety of health care careers, one of which is the Medical Assistant Program. Our MA Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and assures the highest quality education in the field of medical assisting.
