College Will Be Exclusive Northern New Jersey Testing Center

Sussex County Community College will be incorporating Juniper technologies, product and training into its curriculum and utilizing its computer labs to provide resources to enhance and expand SCCC student knowledge and experience with this advanced suite of equipment and its operating system. The college will also be the exclusive testing center for Juniper certification in northern New Jersey.

Juniper Networks, Inc. is an American manufacturer of networking equipment founded in 1996 and headquartered in Sunnyvale, California. The company designs and sells high-performance Internet Protocol network products and services. These include Juniper T-series, M-series, E-series, MX-series, and J-series families of routers, EX-series Ethernet switches and SRX-series security products. Junos, is Juniper’s own network operating system that runs on most Juniper products.

In making the announcement, SCCC Interim Dean of Business, Math, Science and Law, Peter Schoch stated, “Earning Juniper certification is comparable to earning a Cisco certificate. Juniper is very education-friendly and intent on ensuring a reliable stream of trained workers. Our program will offer access to Juniper Networks course material, access to instructor training and resources and will provide certification vouchers for lead instructors. Educational discounts on Juniper Network products will be offered including their virtual laboratory and discounted vouchers will be available to students for certification.”

Schoch added, “Juniper Networks has an excellent reputation in the industry and is a fast growing company. There is a rapidly growing demand for trained and certified workers. With our new Juniper programs at SCCC we will be helping to fill that need.”
