Sussex County Community College (SCCC) and Thorlabs will be partnering in an organization-wide Employee Enrollment Day on Thursday, August 7th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This Open House event is for Thorlabs employees only and will be held at the Thorlabs facility in Newton, NJ.
The Admissions Director, Counselors, and Veterans Coordinator from SCCC will be visiting Thorlabs to announce new and current program offerings, to discuss student support services available and to highlight the many joint academic agreements that SCCC has with many four-year colleges and universities. These agreements allow seamless transition for SCCC students into bachelor and master’s degree programs with Centenary College, East Stroudsburg University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Felician College, Montclair State University, Seton Hall University, Ramapo College, and soon, Berkeley College.
Thorlabs is a designer and manufacturer of photonics equipment for biomedical, manufacturing, and research applications. Founded in 1987, the organization employs approximately 1200 individuals world-wide. Thorlabs supports its employees who are seeking college degrees and advanced certifications and will offer a tuition reimbursement at SCCC.
Karen DiMaria, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at SCCC noted, “Through public/private partnerships like this Employee Enrollment Day at Thorlabs, SCCC is working to support area employers and Chambers of Commerce to keep our workforce and communities vibrant while ensuring that our students have the tools they need to succeed.”
