Convenience is key with classes offered at Hopatcong H.S.

Taking college courses close to home is the key advantage for Hopatcong residents and residents in the surrounding areas. Sussex County Community College (SCCC) is offering 17 new courses for the start of the spring semester on January 22. The classes are open to everyone and the credits can be used to complete an associate degree at SCCC or easily transferred to a four-year college.

New classes at Hopatcong High School will allow students in these areas to have the convenience of travel plus be able to add to their college transcripts. New classes include Character Design, Computer Concepts, English Composition, Food Service Sanitation, History of Rock & Roll, Intro to Exercise Science, Intro to Hotel & Restaurant Mgmt., Intro to Meteorology, Intro to Psychology, Music Theory, Painting, Statistics, Video & Motion Graphics and more.

SCCC will be holding extended office hours in January on the following days:

  • Mondays (8 am to 6:30 pm) – January 8 and January 22 (we are closed on January 15th for Martin Luther King Day)
  • Thursdays (8 am to 6:30 pm) – January 11, January 18 and January 25
  • Saturdays (9 am to 12 noon) – January 13 and January 20
