Sussex County Community College’s long awaited Skylanders’ Mascot has arrived on campus.  In early February, the College community gathered to unveiled the new mascot to students, faculty and staff. The event gave students the chance to share in the excitement plus win prizes embellished with the new mascot logo.

The development phase of the project took several months, and the College is thrilled to finally have a mascot costume that will represent the spirit that surrounds the campus.  The mascot will be used to express a sense of pride at the College and also be a part of the College’s branding. Our athletic teams have been doing an incredible job and we want our mascot to be a part of their celebration and accomplishments.

The company that created the logo was also instrumental in the process of developing the costume that will be worn at athletic or special events on campus and in the community.

“We hope to have the new mascot out and about in the community as a great ambassador for the College” stated Kathleen Peterson, director of marketing. “We will also have a naming opportunity for our students at the start of the fall semester so they can be a part of the excitement.”

The athletic program at Sussex has also finalized the details for the new men’s lacrosse program which will begin in the spring of 2019. A women’s team will soon follow.

The fall semester begins on September 4th and students can still register for classes. Visit to find out more or call Admissions at 973.300.2223.
