General Application Procedures
Admission and registration are available on a rolling basis. Consideration for admission is given to all high school graduates, those holding a GED certificate, or other persons 18 years or older. Home-schooled students under the age of 18 must have parental consent and are required to take and pass the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) prior to admission, and thereafter, the College Placement Exam.
Prospective students may apply by mail or utilize the in-person same day entrance program, or access our on-line application form at sussex.edu. Appointments are not necessary, and each applicant can be guided through the process by a helpful counselor. High school transcripts are not required at the point of admission but must be submitted as soon as possible.
A one-time $15 application fee is required at the time of application.

Admission of Home-Schooled Students
Minor Students
Home-schooled students who have attained the age of 16, but not their legal majority of 18, wishing to enroll in two or more courses, are required to take the College Placement Test. Students failing to meet the minimum test standard will be required to pass the GED exam and thereafter retake the Placement Test or be assigned to remediation as appropriate. Placement test standards will be waived for students meeting the SAT waiver standards.
In all cases, students under the age of 18 will be required to obtain a signed, parental-enrollment consent form.
Adult Students

Students failing to meet the minimum test standard will be required to pass the GED exam and thereafter retake the Placement Test or be assigned to remediation as appropriate. Placement Test standards may be waived for students meeting the SAT waiver standards.
Placement Test Waivers
Students may present recent SAT scores, approved basic skills test scores from another institution or college-level English and mathematics transfer grades of C or better in order to be waived from the testing requirement. SAT scores of 500 or above in the verbal and math areas waive the requirement for reading comprehension and math/algebra testing; a verbal test score of 530 or above waives the testing requiring in the writing area.
