Work with a partner
Each of you should make a different polygon on the circular side of your geoboard. Make polygons using only the pegs on the circle.
Pick a vertex and make as many diagonals as you can from that vertex.
Record your polygon and the diagonals you made on circular geodot paper. Count how many sides are in your polygon and how many diagonals you made. Record this information.
Determine the total number of diagonals in the polygon. Be ready to explain how you did this.
Repeat this process, each time making a polygon that has a different number of sides.
Look for patterns and be ready to talk about what you noticed.
