Finding what you need about.....

VETERINARY MEDICINE

ON THE WEB

Online databases:

Of course, you will want to use the online databases provided by the Library.
These databases provide access to hundreds of journals, periodicals, essays, maps, etc.
The SCCC community may use these free of charge.

   Academic Search
Limit your search to peer-reviewed journals. This will allow you access to research and professional information.

   Encyclopedia of Life Sciences
This full-text encyclopedia provides current, professional information on the life sciences. It allows you to browse
topics or search for specific information. Use this database for information on animal science and veterinary diseases.

  Facts on File
This full-text database provides basic definitions and essays. It also provides a science timeline. Go to the 'Science"
section of the database. Your search will be more productive if you search within the subtopics "Animal Anatomy' or 'Life Science'.

  ProQuest Research Library
Use 'Research Library' to locate articles in professional and research journals. Find information on general science and
research issues concerning animals. You can also limit your search to the 'Science' module.

Other Web-based resources:

The Internet is popular for scientific research as information can be updated quickly. However, you must evaluate
information retrieved by the Internet as it has many unedited sources. Information provided by known scientific organizations,
journals or universities is usually reliable.
