Over the next two years, Sussex County Community College will be participating in an institution-wide Self-Study. This is a requirement by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in order to renew the institution’s accreditation, and maintain compliance.
Under the direction of the President, Dr. Jon Connolly, a Steering Committee was formed in January 2016 to oversee the self-study initiative. The Self-Study Steering Committee is co-chaired by Dr. Dominic Carbone, Assistant Professor of Psychology and Cory Homer, Director of Institutional Research, Planning, Assessment, and Distance Learning.
The Steering Committee is comprised of eleven members of College including seven faculty members, and four staff members. This Committee overseeing the process will focus primarily on:
- Demonstrating how SCCC continues to meet the MSCHE Standards for Accreditation;
- Assessing how well the Institution is achieving its Mission;
- Informing the Institution on the development of a new Strategic Plan; and
- Identifying the adequacy of student services that support the overall student experience.
