Dr. Leonard Lee Rue III, Photographer, Writer, and Naturalist to present at Sussex County Community College

Photo - Dr. Leonard Lee Rue IIIFamed Photographer, Writer, and Naturalist, Dr. Leonard Lee Rue III, will present two programs at Sussex County Community College on Thursday, December 9 th. At 10:50 a.m. Dr. Rue will present “New Jersey Out of Doors”. This program will discuss what wildlife has been found in our state, what currently is found here and what will not be here in the future and why. At 7:00 p.m. he will present, “North to Alaska”. Lured back by the magic that is Alaska, Leonard Lee Rue III visited and photographed its western coast. This program features Eskimos, walrus, seals, shorebirds, and the spectacular scenery of that region.

Dr. Leonard Lee Rue III is the most published wildlife photographer in North America. In 58 years he has sold to over 2,000 different companies and publications in 44 countries. He has to his credit over 1,800 national covers. He is the author of 28 books on wildlife, including How I Photograph Wildlife and Nature, The Deer of North America, Way of the Whitetail, The Deer Hunter's Illustrated Dictionary and Beavers. He has columns in Deer and Deer Hunting Magazine & Outdoor Photographer Magazine, as well as a monthly on-line photography column at www.vividlight.com. Each year Dr. Rue conducts lectures and seminars around the country on white-tailed deer, turkey and nature photography.

Dr. Rue is producing high-quality photographic and educational nature videos and has over 3000 hours of superb, broadcast quality stock footage available. He received the 1987 Outdoor Writers Association of America's "Excellence in Craft" Award. In 1990 he received an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Colorado State University and in 1997 he received NANPA's ( North American Nature Photography Association) Lifetime Achievement Award.
