“He Says/She Says Shakespeare”
He Says/She Says Shakespeare Debate, The Merry Battle of the Sexes
Is he right? Is she right? Dr. Mary Ives Thompson and Dr. Francesco Aristide Ancona, drawing from the material of their new book He Says/She Says Shakespeare, engage in a funny, exciting and well-argued tongue-in-cheek debate that daringly blurs the distinction between sarcasm and blunt honesty. Their continuing “battle of the sexes” is the perfect vehicle to stimulate discussion as well as engender a lively forum of ideas with which people can readily identify simply because of the familiarity they naturally possess with gender issues.
About the Book: He Says/She Says Shakespeare is a contemporary and groundbreaking approach to the timeless work of the great Bard. Six of Shakespeare’s best known plays are critiqued from both the male and female perspectives – a “she says/he says” scholarly bantering or, more aptly put, a vigorous yet good-natured “sparring” (in true Elizabethan fashion); as a result, these beloved texts are imbued with a new life.

Lori's vocal artistry has propelled her to performances in venues all over the world, as well as in a wide variety of recording contexts, including film, commercials and music CD's. West Side Story
West Side Story is a musical written by Arthur Laurents (book), Leonard Bernstein (music), and Stephen Sondheim (lyrics). The story is based loosely on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
Set on Manhattan's Upper West Side, the musical explores the rivalry between two teenage gangs of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The young protagonist, Anton ("Tony"), who belongs to the white gang, falls in love with Maria, the sister of the leader of the rival Puerto Rican gang. The dark theme, sophisticated music, extended dance scenes, and focus on social problems marked a turning point in American musical theater. Bernstein's score for the musical has become extremely popular; it includes "Something's Coming", "Maria", "America," "Somewhere," "Tonight", "Jet Song", "I Feel Pretty", "One Hand, One Heart", and "Cool".
