“I chose SCCC because it made financial sense
and offered a great value. Since I was responsible
for paying for my college education, I knew what a financial burden it would be
on me if I attended a 4 year college immediately. Additionally, SCCC offers an
honors program (Phi Theta Kappa) and I knew if I was accepted into the program
it could lead to sponsorship opportunities at 4 year universities.

What
I enjoyed most about SCCC was the small class sizes – I felt like I really got
to know the professors and my peers. It was also close to home, so I was able
to focus on my core classes while also being able to work part time.

Upon
graduating from SCCC in 2007, I continued my education at Fairleigh Dickinson
University. In 2009, I completed my
studies earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and graduated with
honors – Cum Laude.  My first job out of
college I was a medical receptionist at Integrated Health Professional’s in
Sparta NJ.  After gaining some experience,
I left that role to pursue an opportunity at Sussex Bank where I was hired as
an administrative assistant in the loan and credit department. That role was better
suited to my interest and in an industry (finance) that I majored in. Once there, I quickly progressed taking on
all new assignments and learning as much as I could about the banking industry
from client experience to IT and eventually, marketing.  In November, my hard work and perseverance
paid off when I was promoted to AVP/Marketing Coordinator.

For
me, going to SCCC was the best decision I could have made.  I received a high quality education and was
able to graduate college with less than $30,000 in debt. The classes I
completed at SCCC were easily transferred to FDU. The professors were truly
dedicated to the students and had a real passion for teaching and along with
the small class sizes, made the transition to SCCC extremely easy and prepared
me well for FDU.”
