Assistant Professor of English
began as an adjunct at Sussex County Community College in 1999. In 2008, I became a full-time instructor,
and an assistant professor two years after that. I have had more than 16
years (so far) to observe my colleagues at SCCC and to discover how amazing
they all are. I wish I had the time to audit classes with the brilliant
professors at SCCC. My love for poetry and literature informs my teaching.
have published several poetry collections, most recently A Field Guide to the
Spirits (Aqueduct Press, 2015). In my poetry, I draw from my love of the
natural world, art, and history to discover and rediscover the meaning of
life. It is thrilling to come to SCCC every day and pass those discoveries on
to my students–and show them ways of making such discoveries on their own.
This year I will also be editing an anthology of works by local poets.
