Student Activities

Photo - DrummersStudent activities range from educational seminars to community service projects, recreational events, cultural happenings, theater trips, sporting events and "just for fun" activities. Student Activities trips will be advertised one month prior to the event. Sales of tickets is on a first come, first serve basis. For students possessing a valid ID card, tickets can be purchased during the first week of sales (limit 2 tickets). Staff/faculty and community members are able to purchase tickets from week two until tickets are sold out. Staff registered for classes must purchase tickets during staff and community dates at regular staff prices. SCCC tickets are NOT transferable. Ticket prices are discounted in some instances for valid ID holders. Day and evening students may purchase tickets for events in the Business Office during regular hours. “A Catered Affair”
Set in the Bronx in 1953, A Catered Affair reveals relationships strained to their limits when a couple must decide whether to spend their life savings on a family business or to launch their only daughter’s marriage with a lavish catered affair-the grand wedding they never had. This new musical, written by and starring Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, explores the meaning of family and the need for love, both new and reawakened.
Tickets available to SCCC students ($50) with valid ID beginning 2/28 at the Bursar. Staff ($80) and Community ($90) beginning 3/6.  Coach bus leaves SCCC upper E parking lot at 3:00 pm and returns at 12:30 am.

QVC Studio Park and King of Prussia Mall, West Chester, PA
QVC is the largest home-shopping organization in the world. A lesson in marketing will highlight the tour of the West Chester facility.  On site shopping is available. A trip to the largest mall on the east coast, King of Prussia, will complete the day’s adventure. Coach bus transportation and QVC Admission included with the fee. Leave SCCC at 8:00 AM * Return to Campus 6:00 PM
Students with valid ID cards can purchase tickets at the Bursar’s Office beginning March 11 for $10.  Beginning March 18 Faculty/Staff/Seniors can purchase tickets for $15 and Community for $20 at the Bursar’s Office.

The Museum of the City of New York’s name says it all. Our unique mandate – to explore the past, present, and future of New York City and celebrate it’s heritage of diversity, opportunity, and perpetual transformation – enables us to present a variety of exhibitions, public programs, and publications, all investigating what gives New York its singular character. Tickets available to students ($15) with valid ID cards beginning 3/18. Faculty/Staff/Seniors ($20) and Community ($25) can purchase tickets beginning 3/25 at the Bursar’s Office

Recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as an Academy Award qualifying festival for short films, the annual Black Maria Film and Video Festival has been fulfilling its mission to advocate, exhibit and reward cutting edge works from independent film and video makers. Named for Thomas Edison’s first motion picture studio, the festival is known for its national public exhibition program, which features a variety of bold contemporary works drawn from the annual collection of 50 award winning films and videos.
