Business Policy Items

When is my bill due?

The Summer 2008 bill is due at time of registration.
The Fall 2008 bill due date is August 19, 2008.

 
When will I be assessed a late fee?

Late fees may be assessed any time after the due date.


Is there an installment payment plan?

Yes, a four or five month installment plan is available depending on when you make your first payment.
The five pay plan’s first payment is due 07/25/08.
The four pay plan’s first payment is due 08/25/08.


Is there interest on the installment payment plan?

No. This is an interest free installment plan.
There is a $35 enrollment fee for the regular 4/5 installment plan.*
*Other plans may have a $55 enrollment fee.


How do I enroll in the installment payment plan?

You can enroll by accessing online payments through our college website @

www.sussex.edu

then click on STUDENT LIFE tab

 

then click on BURSAR’S OFFICE

 

then click on Make a payment now

YOU MUST HAVE A STUDENT ID # AND SCHOOL AUTHORIZED PASSWORD.

Will I be mailed an invoice?

Yes, bills will be mailed out August 2008. If you register after August 1, 2008, the only bill you will receive will be at the time of registration.


What happens if the minimum amount due is not paid by the due date?

A late fee of $40.00 will be assessed.


How is financial aid applied to my bill?

If you are eligible for financial aid it will be disbursed throughout the semester starting after the second week of the semester if all the criteria is met. Any questions should be directed to the financial aid office at 973-300-2225.


Who can help with questions regarding my student account?

The Bursar’s office will help you with any questions that you may have. We are open Mon-Thurs 8am-8pm. Fridays we are open 8am-5pm. Saturdays we are open 8am-12pm. Our phone number is 973-300-2106.

What is Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment?

E-Bill is a way to view your current balance and make secure payments on line.


What are the benefits of Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment?

You or an authorized user will be able to view your current statement balance at any time. You can also make a payment on your bill via the internet or telephone.


Where do I go to see my electronic bill?

You may view your bill at any time through the college website @

Can my parents or other authorized users have access to my electronic statement information?

Yes, while logged into the online payment website there is an “ authorized user/parent pin” box and by providing the necessary permissions the authorized users will be able to have access.


What should I do if I cannot access my statement or I feel the current bill is not accurate?

Please contact the Bursar’s office at 973-300-2106.

It is a free service where the funds are automatically deducted from your checking account.

What if I do not wish to make a payment over the web?

You mail in your payment or come into the office and pay in-person.

How do I access the website?

How can I get my student ID and password?

Your student ID # will be on your Student ID card or on your schedule. Your school assigned password was issued to you when you registered. If you do not have either of these please come to the Bursar’s Office. We cannot give out ID #’s and passwords over the phone. We can send the information via email as long as we have that email on file.


Who can answer questions about using the website?

For regular credit bearing classes contact the Bursar’s Office in person or by calling 973-300-2106. For Continuing Education call Jaci Teune from the Corporate and Community Education Division at 973-300-2143.

I am a Parent


Can I be notified when my child’s statement is available?

Only if you are enrolling in the payment plan; the student will have the ability to allow the parent to receive statements when there is a payment.


How can I make a payment on behalf of my child?

Your child must give you permission by setting up an account for you with a pin number so you have access to the student’s financial information.


I have forgotten my parent user ID and password? Where do I go to have it resent?

Please contact the Bursar’s Office for instruction


Does my child have access to my credit card or electronic check information?

No, because of your exclusive pin number, only you will have access to that information.


Is it safe to send my credit card and electronic check information over the web?

Yes, the Cashnet website follows strict and secure encryption guidelines with Extended Validation SSL certificates. This should help you to feel comfortable conducting business online.
