Bursar Policy Items

Will I be mailed an invoice?
A bill will be sent to your school assigned email and is also available online through My.Sussex Portal. Paper invoices will not be mailed unless requested at

How do I enroll in the installment payment plan?
You can enroll from inside your student portal by clicking “Payment/Billing”
You must have a Student ID# and school authorized password. This is the same password you use for the My.Sussex Portal.

Is there interest on the installment payment plan?
There is a $35 enrollment fee. The payment plan is interest free.

Auto Payments?
You can sign up for “Auto Payments” to automatically have your payment taken from your account monthly.  This will relieve you of having to remember when payments are due.  You can go to My.Sussex Portal, payment/billing and sign up.

Are there late fees?
A $50 late fee will be assessed after the due date.

How is financial aid applied to my bill?
If you are approved for financial aid it will be automatically disbursed through your student account starting after the second week of the semester if all criteria are met. Any questions should be directed to the Financial Aid Office at 973-300-2225.

Who can help with questions regarding my student account?
The Bursar’s Office will help with any questions regarding your account. You can email your questions to or call 973-300-2106. Office hours are Mon 8am-6:30pm and Tuesdays through Fridays 8am-5pm.The phone number is 973-300-2106.

Electronic Statement Items

What is Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment?
E-Bill is a way to view your current balance and make secure payments on line.

What are the benefits of Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment?
You or an authorized user will be able to view your current statement balance at any time. You can also make a payment on your bill online.

>Where do I go to see my electronic bill?
Go to your student Portal, click on the student tab; then click on My Account – Bursar Office – Cashier to view your bill.
You must have a Student ID# and school authorized password.

Can my parents or other authorized users have access to my electronic statement information?
Yes, while logged into the online payment website there is an “authorized user/parent pin” box and by providing the necessary permissions the authorized users will be able to have access.

>What should I do if I cannot access my statement or I feel the current bill is not accurate?

Website Notice – 1098T
A paper copy will be mailed to your address on file on January 31st. You may consent to receive an electronic copy by signing into My.Sussex Portal and accessing the “Student” page/”My Account – Bursar Business Office”. The method of reporting that Sussex County Community College chooses to report to the IRS for your 1098T is the amount billed for qualified tuition & related expenses.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept E-check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and debit cards with the Visa or MasterCard logo on them.

>What is E-Check?
It is a free service where the funds are automatically deducted from your checking account.
