Academic Advisement

If you will have completed 24 or fewer credits you will be asked to visit the Student Advising and Counseling Center for advisement. However, if your major is one of the following, you will be assigned a faculty member as an advisor: Accounting, Chemistry, Child Development, Graphic Design, Liberal Arts/Anthropology Option, Liberal Arts/Dramatic Arts Option, Paralegal Studies, Studio Arts/Photography.

If you have completed 25 or more credits, you will be assigned a faculty member as an advisor and will be notified by a letter in the mail. Your faculty advisor’s information is also located on your My.Sussex Portal.

Priority Registration provides an opportunity for current students to select their classes before new students. Appointments are recommended to meet with a counselor, and it is recommended that you seek advisement in advance of the registration dates. Next semester’s schedule of courses can be found via the My.Sussex Portal course search.

You can keep track of which courses you have taken and which courses are still required by following your major’s checksheet. Checksheets are available online, in the College Catalog, and in the Student Advising and Counseling Center.
