Students anticipating graduation must file a formal application for graduation at the Registrar’s Office. There are three graduation dates per year; in August, January, and May. Only one commencement ceremony is conducted and held in May.
Graduation Application Deadlines
May graduation: March 1
August graduation: July 1
January graduation: December 15
Students wishing to participate in the May ceremony must file the formal declaration of graduation by March 1; however, students are strongly urged to file their declaration early in the preceding semester. Students within two courses of degree completion and students within one course of certificate completion are allowed to participate in the commencement ceremony.
Students filing will have a documented review of their credentials and outstanding course work to guide them through the registration process. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required of all students planning to graduate.
Take Note: Participation in the commencement ceremony does not necessarily mean you graduated. You must successfully complete all your required courses.
The graduation application can be obtained in the Registrar’s Office or by printing out the Graduation Application. There is a fee of $50.00 for a single application. For multiple or simultaneous degree/certificate applications, an additional fee of $10.00 is charged for each. The application with the appropriate fee payment must be returned to the Bursar’s Office.
