Thanks to all of you who have supported the 100 Women Scholarship Project. Over the past twelve years, hundreds of you have contributed $100 a year to support the scholarship fund for non-traditional women returning to college. Through your generosity, we have been able to award 59 scholarships since the project began.
Now more than ever, women are seeking higher education for job security and financial stability, as well as fulfilling long-held dreams. Among the ten scholarship recipients in 2024, we have a mother of two daughters pursuing a double major of Psychology and Pre-Law; a 44-year-old mother of a profoundly disabled child studying a long-time interest in Anthropology; and a woman who logged 11 acres of property to raise money for her college classes We have several mothers in low paying jobs pursuing business degrees with a goal of owning their own businesses to provide better lives for their families. And, we have a woman who lived in a war zone for many years who is studying Human Services/Social Work to help people “who are lost and desperate” as she was during that time in her life. All of these women are maintaining high grade point averages while balancing families, work and their academic studies.
This year our keynote speaker is Annette Niemtzow, a dynamic woman, who became An Accidental Broadway Producer. She will talk about lessons learned and how those lessons can be translated into wholly unexpected careers.
We hope that you can join us in the Atrium on March 19, 2025, at 9:00am to hear our fascinating speaker and salute Women’s History Month. Enjoy breakfast prepared by our amazing culinary students, supervised by Chef Martin Kester.
This event is always a sellout, so be sure to RSVP and bring a friend. We look forward to seeing you on March 19, 2025.
