General Job Summary:

Reporting to Director of the Foundation, the Development Assistant performs as well as oversees a wide variety of administrative and program support activities for the Foundation Office. To meet the growing needs of the Foundation the Development Assistant provides administrative support to the Foundation Director and will be responsible for database management (Raiser’s Edge), financial reporting, and other duties as assigned.

Main Duties:

  1. Manages all aspects of Raiser’s Edge (RE) database including data input, output, updates, and corrections. Also creates custom dashboards and queries as needed.
  2. Manages data across platforms RE, Constant Contact, and Jenzabar
  3. Strategizes and manages implementation and streamlining of data for best use of RE features to accomplish SCCC Foundation Goals.
  4. Participates on College shared governance committees.
  5. Ensures that all data from Constant Contact is imported in to Raiser’s Edge and serve as the liaison with the College Information Technology office to ensure that Alumni names are imported accurately into RE.
  6. Records all gifts/pledges into RE and sends donor acknowledgement letters within one week of receipt.
  7. Produces weekly financial reports based on receipt of gifts and pledges and reconciles with College Finance Office.
  8. Generates pledge reminders and invoices.
  9. Maintains campaign/event records, track sponsorships, send reminder notices.
  10. Works in partnership with Foundation Director to plan and implement all signature fundraising events, as well as cultivation and stewardship gatherings.
  11. Assists with the management of event finances, Foundation income, budget and expenditures.
  12. Maintains audit readiness and comprehensive, timely assistance to both internal and external auditors.
  13. Supports preparation of Form 990 and associated documents.
  14. Coordinates the student scholarship program at SCCC.
  15. Gathers student success stories to be used in the Foundation annual report, website, and donor communications.
  16. Supports established Foundation communications plan.
  17. Design and/or update Foundation promotional materials.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - Associate’s Degree in business administration, related field, or equivalent experience required.

 Required Skills/Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in managing Raiser’s Edge database or similar fundraising software.
  2. Understanding of Constant Contact System.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Ability to create professional looking documents.
  5. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  6. Understanding of financial reporting and budgeting.
  7. Schedule flexibility to attend evening and weekend events, as appropriate.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  1. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign and Illustrator.
  2. Experience in donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
  3. Prior experience in higher education advancement.
