Job Description

The ERP Specialist assists and reports to the Chief Information and Technology Officer to coordinate institution-wide information services programs and activities, and in the development and implementation of information technology goals, objectives, and priorities. The ERP Specialist will be the primary person handling user setup and access permissions on all College software systems for students, faculty, staff and other authorized system users. Collaborating with the CIO, the ERP Specialist will coordinate projects with the College systems/network consulting firm, the Security Dept, the Marketing Dept and the Media Dept, and maintain an understanding of how the College's network and systems function and are configured, in the constantly changing technological world. This position is also responsible for aiding in troubleshooting day-to-day issues related to the College's SIS user interface, workstations and connectivity, and supports the students, faculty, staff and administration with technology issues.

  1. Meet regularly with the CIO to share status of all activities, and requests from other departments. Work with the CIO on the IT Dept. position on all ongoing projects and aid in the implementation of information technology goals, objectives, and priorities.
  2. Handle user setup and access permissions in the College's main Jenzabar Student Information System (SIS) and other integrated 3rd party software. Create/update user permissions and groups within the network with guidance from the systems/network consulting firm - this includes active directory, 0365, email and share drive folders - for students, faculty, staff and other authorized system users.
  3. As the primary person handling user setup and access permissions to all College software systems, receive, process and properly secure confidential College information regarding students, faculty, staff and other authorized system users from Human Resources and the College Administration.
  4. Create and deliver training sessions and materials to faculty, staff, students and other authorized system users to ensure that all have the understanding and tools to communicate effectively within the College information systems. Develop user guides and troubleshooting checklists.
  5. In concert with the Information Technology Service & Helpdesk Administrator, manage and maintain a schedule that creates proper coverage of the IT Department to address operational needs to include emergency/off hours coverage, handle work orders through ticketing system, and aid in troubleshooting issues related to the College's Jenzabar Student Information System (SIS), user workstations and network connectivity, and support the students, faculty, staff and administration with technology issues.
  6. Work with the Information Technology Service & Helpdesk team to install workstation, laptop and other device software images, special academic software installs and upgrades to ensure that minimal disruption to service and operations during key enrollment periods.
  7. Assist the CIO in defining projects and work to be done by the College network consulting firm specialists and in the formulation of allover plans for College server and network support, expansion, and migration to cloud operations.
  8. Handle Security Dept ID card system, and aid Security Director with other security technology - cameras, door access, etc. Aid the Media Director and the Marketing Director with installation and operation of specialized media software and devices.
  9. Participate with the CIO in interactions with vendor technical support with Jenzabar and other 3rd party systems.
  10. Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting ERP systems in a Microsoft Networking environment.
  • Prefer experience working in higher education, with knowledge of student enrollment, academic advising, financial aid, and related processes.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (IT staff, faculty, administrators) to solve issues.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of Student Information Systems (SIS) software
  • Experience with SQL databases, scripting and data transfer methods.
  • Familiarity with integrating SIS with other systems (e.g., LMS, financial systems, document management systems).
  • Basic knowledge of web technologies and how they may interact with SIS software

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff and faculty.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly and effectively, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Project Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Software Skills: Experience with Jenzabar Student Information Systems (SIS) software.

Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 per year
