Job Description

The Esports Coach is responsible for preparing and training his/her respective teams for strong competition throughout their season.  the coach should have the following qualities:  Strong Communication skills, strong motivational skills, and strong knowledge of the competitive games.

 

Main Duties:

Recruit student-athletes that can be successful academically, socially, and in the sport.

Conduct meaningful practice sessions to instruct and prepare student-athletes to compete competitively.

Oversee care of the equipment, inventory and make recommendations for purchases and/or replacement of equipment.

Become familiar with rules and regulations set forth by the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE).

Assist the SCCC Athletic Department to ensure academic proficiency for student-athletes.

Work with the College's administration to gauge the success of the program.

Report game results and information regularly to the SCCC Marketing Department.

Keep current on local and national news concerning Esports.

 

Qualifications:

Previous experience working in higher education is preferred.  Previous experience playing/coaching of Esports is required.
