Job Description

Responsible for management of the daily functions of the front desk and adjunct spaces in the faculty office area providing full reception, telephone answering and messaging duties. Assists Academic Affairs with the collection and archiving of class syllabi and final exams, completing purchase requisitions, and the preliminary course scheduling process. Assist with mail distribution for faculty, keeps the reception area neat and the bulletin boards up to date, the supply cabinet organized, orders classroom supplies and completes other duties as assigned.

Assists Academic Affairs with the collection and archiving of class syllabi and final exams.

Completes purchasing requisitions as assigned.

Oversees the preliminary course scheduling process including maintaining scheduling folders, sending out reminders for completion and compiling the first draft to forward to the Registrar’s office.

Answers and directs all phone calls and takes messages when appropriate.

Assist with mail distribution for faculty.

Set up of all faculty incoming postal and interoffice mail for the faculty.
*

Keeps the reception area neat, the bulletin boards up to date, the supply cabinet organized, and orders classroom and office supplies.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s Degree or completion of a Certificate in Office Systems Skills.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the use of technology.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Detail oriented.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Previous experience in higher education and/or experience in an office setting with demonstrated knowledge of office practices and procedures.
