Job Description

Customer Service:

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer questions regarding products, pricing, and store policies.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Handle returns and exchanges per store policies.

Inventory Management:

  • Assist with stocking shelves and organizing products.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies or shortages to the supervisor.
  • Participate in regular inventory counts and restocking procedures.

Store Maintenance:

  • Ensure the store is always clean, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Assist with setting up and dismantling displays, promotional materials, and signage.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly checkout area.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with special projects
  • Help with data entry and record-keeping tasks related to inventory and sales.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other store employees to achieve common goals.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to address issues and improve store operations.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed primarily in a retail environment with frequent customer interaction
  • Requires standing for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college experience preferred.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency with POS systems.
  • Ability to lift and carry merchandise and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • A high degree of common sense and good judgment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Supports the mission of the college
  • Follows established policies and procedures set forth by the college
  • Ability to work with a broad spectrum of students found in a community college environment

Salary: $ 15.13 per hour
