Job Description

Reporting to the Dean of Technical Occupations, this is a temporary and part-time Perkins Grant-funded position designed to assist with the enhancement of student performance across the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Responsibilities include student advisement, internship placement and advisory committee facilitation and hosting/attending CTE events in an effort to help with retention, completion, and increasing work-based learning experiences.

  1. Supports the mission of the college.
  2. Serves as a liaison between Sussex County Community College and the surrounding community working closely with the Dean of Technical Occupations.
  3. Works closely with the Dean of Technical Occupations to promote student retention, completion, and increasing work-based learning experiences.
  4. Supports student advisement and internship placement under the direction of the Dean of Technical
  5. Assists with advisory committee facilitation and hosting/attending CTE events.
  6. Maintains all records, documentation and reports as it relates to the Perkins Grant and job descriptions.
  7. Promotes programs in the community.
  8. Performs other duties assigned.

Education:

  • Associate’s Degree required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the use of technology.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Detail oriented.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in higher education and CTE preferred

Salary: $ 18.00 per hour
