Job Description

The Marketing & Communications Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Marketing and Public Relations team through content creation, digital platform management, and event promotion across campus and in the community.  This position is suited for individuals proficient in content creation, digital marketing, with writing, editing and organizational skills.  A strong candidate will also demonstrate a willingness to learn and utilize digital platforms effectively for communication purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, edit and manage content for social media, emails, the website, and event promotions
  • Create graphic content via Canva or Adobe Suites
  • Photography needs at events and in the classroom for the website, in marketing materials and on social media
  • Organize and maintain image library and digital assets
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the College website (Umbraco CMS)
  • Collaborate with departments to gather content and meet communications needs
  • Create email marketing campaigns using the Constant Contact Platform
  • Update campus communication tools including Rise Vision and the digital marquee
  • Distribute/Organize marketing materials
  • Complete tasks on deadlines and assist with other projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and digital communications tools
  • Proficient in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
  • Writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Basic photography and video skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Experience with or willingness to learn web platforms and CMS (e.g., Umbraco)
  • Ability to manage time, multitask, and work independently or with the team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Salary:  $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
