Job Description

The part-time Medical Assistant (MA) Program Coordinator will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing a new program in medical assisting.   In addition, responsibilities are intended to grow to include the coordination of programming and adjunct instruction in other allied health professions.  This individual will be responsible for ensuring new programs meet standards and requirements set forth by state/national credentialing agencies.

11) Ensures that all records and performance requirement for CAAHEP certification are maintained.

12) Ensures that CAAHEP core curricula are met.  Completes at least an annual review of all course master syllabi, and makes recommendations for curricula and syllabi changes if needed.

13) Reviews and submits for approval administrative requests for purchasing, expense reimbursement , personnel, supplies/materials.

14) Secures clinical sites as required by state/credentialing agencies.

15) Ensures that all College and Departmental policies and procedures are fully implemented and maintained.

 

Education/Experience:

Medical Assistant Certification - CAAHEP

Master's Degree in Health Science, Laboratory Science, or related field, preferred.

Relevant work experience related to the management and operations of a Medical Assisting program preferred.

 

Qualifications:

Excellent written, interpersonal, and communications skills required.

Must be knowledgeable and proficient in MS Office; Excel; Powerpoint.

Basic knowledge of and ability to use computer database management applications.

Evidence of strong organizational and project management skills required.

Ability to interact with students at the secondary level and effectively promote the Medical Assistant Program and other Allied Health Science Programs as needed.

Ability to travel, must hae a valid NJ Driver's license, maintain adequate car insurance and be willing and able to utilize own vehicle for work, if needed.

Current First Aid, CPR/AED certifications.

Must be certified and/or licensed to perform the following skills:

      1) Medication and Vaccination Injection

      2) Phlebotomy

      3) EKG's

      4) Clia Testing

      5) Spirometry

      6) Vital Signs (BP, AP, Resp) Height, Weight and BMI

      7) Glucose and Urine Testing

      8) Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation

      9) Patient Assessment
