Job Description

Reporting to the Dean of Technical Occupations, this is a grant-funded position responsible for assisting students in preparing for and obtaining entry-level work in careers connected to their major after graduation.  The individual will work closely with the Workforce Development of Northwest New Jersey to identify open positions and career training opportunities.

  1. Actively works to support the Mission and Strategic Plan of Sussex County Community College.
  2. Serves as a liaison between Sussex County Community College and the surrounding business community to identify job prospects for graduating students.
  3. Works closely with the Office of Student Success to promote student retention, completion, and increase experiential learning experiences.
  4. Works with the Offices of Student Success and Campus Life to support career training programing.
  5. Supports student advisement and internship placement under the direction of the Dean of Technical Occupations.
  6. Assists with advisory committee facilitation and hosting/attending Career and Technical Education events.
  7. Maintains all records, documentation and reports as it relates to the Perkins Grant and job description.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s Degree required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the use of technology.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Detail oriented.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Previous experience in higher education and CTE setting preferred.

Salary: $18.00 per hour
