Job Description

The PT Summer Custodian Student Workers will assist the Custodial Department in preparing the College Campus for the upcoming Semester(s).

  1. As part of the Custodial team, perform essential duties to appropriately clean and maintain the Campus buildings and property.
  2. Assist in moving furniture within office spaces and exterior spaces on campus.
  3. Assist with floor care duties such as buffing, waxing, and carpet cleaning.
  4. Remove trash and other debris for general custodial duties as well as special projects.
  5. Be able to lift 40 pounds.
  6. Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure you and your team members are free from injury.
  7. Perform related duties as assigned.

Education:

Current or prospective Sussex County Community College Student. 

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of basic maintenance, and/or custodial practices or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Some experience assembling furniture.
  • Be able to work independently and with the team, take directions and follow through. 

 

 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional evening or weekend shifts for special projects.

Work Environment: Primarily outdoors or in campus buildings, with exposure to heat, rain, and other weather conditions.

Duration: Seasonal (typically May–August or as needed).

Salary:  $15.49 per hour
