Job Description

The research data analyst will be involved in the collection and analysis of data for a variety of internal and external reports. Under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Marketing, Enrollment Management, and Distance Learning, he/she will help to organize data and prepare tables and graphs to provide information to the College’s various constituencies. He/she will assist in the development, administration, and analysis of a variety of surveys and will provide administrative support for projects. Additionally, the research assistant inputs data from multiple assessments into the assessment management software as well as training faculty in the use of the software. Assists the Associate Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Marketing, Enrollment Management, and Distance Learning with the preparation and submission of various reports (e.g., SURE, IPEDS, Institutional Profiles, etc.) required to be submitted to external agencies on a regular basis. The research data analyst will also complete other duties as assigned, as they relate to continuous quality improvement.



Assists in the development, creation, and data collection of internal surveys conducted for faculty and administrative purposes.


Compiles results reports for internal surveys.


Performs simple types of statistical computations and analysis.


Responds to internal data requests, which may include a variety of tables, graphs, and charts for reports and presentations.


Assists with preparation of data for state and federal reports.


Input assessment management software data


Performs Internet research.


Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills: 

  1. Knowledge and understanding of calculating basic mathematical computations (i.e. mean, standard deviation, percentages, percent increases, etc.).
  2. Experience using Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, formulas, and chart creation.
  3. The ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines, provide high attention to detail and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. Handle and protect any potentially sensitive data with integrity. 

Preferred Skills: 

  1. Experience with SPSS data analysis.
  2. An interest in research and higher education topics.
  3. Possession of strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  4. Familiarity with Remark OMR software.
  5. Strong written and presentation skills.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a statistically related field.
