Job Description

This two phase position for the start-up of intercollegiate wrestling will include recruitment in advance of the actual coaching of the team.  Anticipated recruitment to begin January 2020 and the coaching of the team to begin Fall 2020.  During this first phase it will be the responsibility of the employee to seek and recruit an ample number of student-athlete wrestlers to warrant the start-up of an intercollegiate wrestling program.

 

Main Duties:

Become familiar with SCCC academic program offerings as well as Advising/Counseling, Registrars Office and Financial Aid to gain a base knowledge of these areas to assist in the recruiting process.

Recruit student athletes interested in participating in the sport of wrestling.

Cultivate and develop relations with HS athletic Administrators and wrestling coaches through various means in order to better reach high school wrestlers.

Keep detailed records of contacts made.

Host on/off campus events to introduce high school athletes and athletic administrators to the start-up process of wrestling at SCCC.

Assist in the promotion of the sport of wrestling at SCCC.

At the conclusion of this recruitment phase, provide a written report of findings.
