4/14/2019 10:07:59 AM

The Annual Fine Art Student’s Exhibition will be on display from May 3 – June 14 in the Art Gallery in Building C. This year’s exhibit features approximately one hundred works created by current students who are either art majors or have taken courses in the Department of Fine Arts. Refreshments will be served during the opening reception on Friday, May 3 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. All are welcome.

This juried exhibition will highlight works from Digital Media, Design, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography and Fashion Design covering a wide range of topics, materials, and methods. The exhibition offers students an opportunity to showcase their artworks and creative endeavors within a professional event. The public is welcome and encouraged to come and view the exhibition and meet faculty, students and the college community.

For some of the students, the exhibition is the culmination of their foundation work that serves as a launching point for careers within Art and Design fields.

This will be the final Student Exhibition overseen by Dr. Julie McWilliams, Academic Coordinator of the Fine Arts Degree program. Dr. McWilliams has taught at SCCC for well over 20 years and recently announced her retirement from teaching. She and her partner, noted painter George Mueller, will be relocating to Maine to continue their practice as studio artists.
