Twenty-three years have passed since the tragic events of September 11, 2001. As a nation, we united in solidarity with our fellow Americans. To commemorate the lives lost, Sussex County Community College (SCCC) will host a ceremony marking the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on Wednesday, September 11, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the College's 9/11 Memorial on Connor Green.
The ceremony will start promptly at 8:30 a.m. It will include performances by bagpipe players from Sussex County and two bugle players. Local firefighters, police, and EMS personnel will also be present to show their support.
The Newton Police Department, the Police Benevolent Association Local 138, and the VFW Post 5360 organized this year's event. The VFW Post 5360 Hall, located at 85 Mill St, Newton, NJ, will serve bagels and coffee following the ceremony. All are welcome to attend.
