Sussex County Community College and the American Legion Post 86 will host their Second Annual "Boots on the Ground" Walk/Run to support veterans on Saturday, April 19 at 10 am on the Sussex County Community College campus, One College Hill Road, Newton, NJ.
Participants can register online. New this year, runners have the option of participating in either the 5k family-oriented, pet-friendly, fun walk / run, or a more demanding 10k run. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded.
The event's mission is to bring attention and support to the veterans of Sussex County. Lt. Charles A. Meyer, American Legion Post 86, and Sussex County Community College believe veterans transitioning back to civilian life appreciate the support of a welcoming community. Participants can show their support by attending the event. The $30 entrance fee ($20 for veterans or students), will go towards providing educational resources and economic support for the veterans.
