Figuring out how to navigate the college financial aid process can be overwhelming. Students and parents can find direction and ease the burden of this intimidating process.

Sussex County Community College (SCCC) will be assisting college-bound students and their parents to fill out the FAFSA forms with scheduled workshops. These hour-long workshops, which are free and open to the public, will guide the participant through the many steps needed to file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid Application).

The workshops are held on the SCCC campus every Wednesday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. in the Administration Building, room B315, and every Friday from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. in the Administration Building Room B304.  Scheduled workshops will continue through August. Students and their parents are encouraged to attend. Please arrive promptly to allow sufficient time to complete the forms.

Participants should bring the following documentation to aid in assistance; their student, FSA user ID and Password for both student and parent, Student’s Driver’s License, 2017 federal tax returns, W-2 forms, 1098-G forms for unemployment, Bank statements, Social Security cards/Alien Registration cards and any other income documentation for the 2017 year(s).

No appointment is necessary, first-come, first served basis. For more information, contact the SCCC Financial Aid Dept at 973.300.2225 or visit sussex.edu/financialaid.
