Internship Information

How Our Internships Work

These credit-earning internships are designed to provide hands-on experience in a student's field of study. Typically taken during a student’s last semester at SCCC, an internship combines course experience with instructor support, allowing students to apply their new knowledge in a real-world setting simultaneously. While these credit-earning internships are typically unpaid, the practical experience significantly enhances employability and professional skills. An internship is a great addition to a resume!

Pre-requisite Information

Any student wishing to register for their major program’s internship course will need to complete all internship course prerequisites before registering. Check out your major’s Recommended Program Course Sequence to review your progress and eligibility with your Academic Advisor or visit the Student Success Center counselors.

Required Forms

All internships offered through SCCC require the Internship Permission Form and the Internship Insurance Form to be completed, signed, and submitted to the internship course instructor before beginning an internship. All internship placements need the internship course instructor’s permission. Coursework will also be required to enhance and supplement your “on-the-job” internship experience. Contact Nancy Gallo for the required forms.
