Registration for Current Students

Before you register for class, it is recommended that you meet with your Academic Advisor.

1. Meet with your Advisor to create your Academic Plan!

It is recommended to meet with your advisor throughout the year to review your academic goals and plans before you register for classes. Make an appointment with your advisor to discuss your academic plans. Checksheets are a great resource to map out your plan.

How do I find my Advisor?

  • Login to your My Sussex student portal. Your advisor assignment is under the Student Tab, Advising Information.
  • If assigned to the Advising and Counseling Center, visit their page to book an appointment.
  • If assigned to a faculty advisor, schedule an appointment directly.

Browse the Course Schedule on the My Sussex Portal, to see which classes you will be taking next semester.

2. Apply for Financial Aid

(If you've already filed a FAFSA this year, move to Step 3)

Most students don’t realize they qualify for financial aid. File your FAFSA early. Need help filling out the FAFSA?  Attend a Free FAFSA Workshop

  • For information on federal and state aid visit our Financial Aid page.
  • Visit your My Sussex student portal to view your financial aid award and documents necessary to complete your file.
  • For assistance contact the Financial Aid Office: 973-300-2225.

3. Register for Class

The best time for current students to register is during Priority Registration, this allows current students to register before registration opens to the community. Check the Academic Calendar for Priority Registration dates for the current semester. If Priority Registration is over, current students can still follow these steps.

  • Online Registration
If you are eligible to register online, please login to your My Sussex student portal and follow these Online Registration Instructions
For technical difficulties contact our IT Hotline at 973-300-2333 or itservices@sussex.edu.
  • In Person Registration
Students that register in person are required to see an advisor for academic planning. Once that is completed, either the student will be registered by their advisor or instructed to bring the Registration Form to the Registrar’s Office.

4. Make a Payment

After you register, please make payment arrangements. There are several Ways to Pay for your education.
If your financial aid doesn’t cover your tuition, the full balance is due, unless you enroll in a Payment Plan.

Installment Payment Plan: Think about enrolling in the interest-free Payment Plan and spread payments over several months! The earlier you register, the more time you have to make your payments. Visit Online Payment and Billing, choose Enroll in the UNDG Installment Payment Plan.
