    Visit our Admissions page, discover what type of student you are, then follow the directions.
  2. How do I get my SCCC ID number?

    Once your application has been processed by the Admissions Staff you will receive an email with your SCCC ID number. An official letter of acceptance will also be mailed to you, which will include your SCCC ID number.
  3. Do I need to have my High School Transcript sent?

  4. Do I need to take the Accuplacer Test?

3. Is there a Payment Plan?

Installment Payment Plans (IPPs) are available for fall and spring semesters only.  See example. Enroll online through Cashnet once registered.

4. Do I receive a refund when I drop a class?

You will receive a refund only if you drop a class within the 100% refund withdrawal period.  See the academic calendar for dates.

    The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program at Sussex County Community College provides access to higher education for New Jersey students who meet established guidelines.

    The program offers services that promote academic and personal excellence to assist students in reaching their potential.

  2. What are the Eligibility Requirements?

    Prospective program participants must meet the following requirements:
      Be a New Jersey resident/citizen (minimum one year consecutively)
      Be a recipient of a High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalent (HSE)
      Intend to be a full-time student (minimum of 12 credits)
      Provide evidence of motivation and potential to succeed in college

  3. How do I apply for EOF at Sussex County Community College?

      Complete a Sussex County Community College EOF Admission Application.
      Complete the Financial Aid application at studentaid.gov. Sussex school code: 025688
      Schedule an EOF interview by contacting Ann Bruno, abruno@sussex.edu.

  4. What does the EOF Program expect of me?

    ■ All EOF scholars are required to meet with their EOF Counselor during the semester to discuss   academic progress and/or issues affecting their educational success.
    ■ Attend tutoring as required.
    ■ Attend scheduled workshops and activities.
    ■ Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
  5. Is there a deadline to apply?

    You can apply for to the EOF program until September 1st, however the number of students accepted is limited. Applying early is the best way to improve your chances of being accepted.

  1. How do I apply for financial aid?

    To apply for financial aid you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by logging into the federal website at www.studentaid.gov . You and your parent will need to create a FSA User ID and Password that will allow you to electronically sign the FAFSA. Be sure to add our federal school code of 025688 on the form. Once you submit your form, it is processed and sent to the school. We will reach out to you via your Sussex Email account regarding documents needed and the amount of financial aid for which you qualify.
  2. How much financial aid will I receive?

    The amount of grants you receive will depend on the EFC or Expected Family Contribution that is listed on your Student Aid Report (SAR). This form is sent to you by the Department of Education once your FAFSA is processed. If you are a NJ resident, you will also be contacted by the NJ Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (NJHESAA) and asked to log into their NJFAMS website to view any grant funds for which you may qualify. You will need to create another User ID and Password to access their website at https://njfams.hesaa.org.
  3. How do I apply for a student loan?

    As a new borrower you will need to complete three steps the first time around:
    a. Go to www.studentaid.gov and sign in using your FSA User ID and Password, select COMPLETE AID PROCESS and then select COMPLETE ENTRANCE COUNSELING for an UNDERGRADUATE student. Keep a copy for your records. We will be notified electronically.
    b. Next, on the same website, complete the MASTER PROMISSORY NOTE for the Federal Direct Student Loan for an UNDERGRADUATE student. Keep a copy for your records. We will be notified electronically.
    c. Complete and submit to the Financial Aid Office the Federal Direct Loan Request Form indicating the amount you wish to borrow for the year. The completed form can be submitted to the Financial Aid Office via US Mail or emailed to FAdocs@sussex.edu.
  4. How do I get a book allowance?

    You will receive an email to your Sussex email account instructing you on how to order your books through eCampus approximately two weeks before the start of the semester. Books can be shipped right to your home address. Financial aid cannot be used to purchase your books until your financial aid file is complete and if selected for federal or state verification, all documents have been received and reviewed.
  5. When will I get my refund check?

    Financial aid in excess of your tuition, fees and books/supplies charged to your account through eCampus, will be refunded to you once all attendance is confirmed by the faculty, your financial aid file is complete and if selected for federal or state verification, all documents have been received and reviewed. We strongly urge you to enroll in ERefund through your CashNet account so funds can be applied directly into your bank account. By eliminating a paper check, this will shorten the wait time for your refund.

  2. How do I apply for graduation?

    Graduation is not automatic. The College graduates students 3 times per year in January, May and August. You must apply for graduation by the following deadlines:
    • January – December 1st
    • May – March 1st
    • August – July 1st
    You can apply online through CashNet or you can download the pdf and mail the application and payment to SCCC Registrar’s Office, One College Hill Road, Newton, NJ 07860.

  3. How do I receive my diploma?

    Diplomas are mailed to your address on file approximately 6 weeks after graduation.
  1. How can I speak with an actual person in The Testing Center?

    The Testing Center is currently closed. You can call 973-300-2155 or 973-300-2242 to leave a voice message. We will return your call. You can also send an email to kcarr@sussex.edu or sunverzagt@sussex.edu.
  2. How can I take the Accuplacer Test?

    Presently, we are not giving the Accuplacer Test since our center is closed. Contact the Advising and Counseling Center to speak with an Advisor to determine if you will need to take the Accuplacer Test. A schedule will be posted on the SCCC Testing Center Webpage when we re-open.
  3. How do I take the SCCC Placement test for Pre-Calculus and Calculus I online?

    Contact the Advising and Counseling Center to determine that you qualify for the test. You can find the Pre-Calculus and Calculus I Placement Tests here.
  4. Can I currently take a Praxis, CLEP, HiSET, or Pearson Vue test at SCCC?

    No. Unfortunately, while the Testing Center is closed none of these tests are being offered. A schedule will be posted on the SCCC Testing Center Webpage when we re-open. However, if you need to take a Praxis test now, visit ets.org to learn about their “Praxis Tests at Home Solution” program.
  5. How can I currently get Tutoring services at SCCC?

    Tutoring services are still being offered online through Thinkingstorm on Canvas.
