Academics

Sussex County Community College offers a wide range of academic programs, degree options, online degrees, professional certificates, and Community Education and Workforce Development classes. As you explore the many program options, you’ll find information about each of the degrees and certificates and the types of careers opportunities available.

Sussex programs have a general education component that gives you a solid foundation for your education. Our programs are designed to prepare you the first two years of your bachelor’s degree so you can transfer to a four-year college or university. We also offer programs that prepare you to enter the workforce upon completion. Our class sizes remain small, ensuring you will receive plenty of individualized attention.

We pride ourselves on the outstanding faculty on our campus who are specialists in their discipline. Professors provide a combination of classroom teaching, lectures, projects and lab work to round out their subject matter.

We encourage you to take advantage of our learning resources.

  • The Advising and Counseling Center has counselors available for academic advisement to help you plan a course of study.  The Center is open day and evening to all students on a walk-in basis and counselors can assist with program requirements, educational options, test interpretation, course placement, transfer information, career and educational planning.
  • Our Library is an outstanding resource on campus and your first stop for research. We have a team of friendly professionals ready to help you locate the information you need. Library services are available on-site and online to students, the college community, and the larger community.
  • The Learning Center offers instructional support to all students. It is the place to go for tutoring, computers, tips on technology and information on how to connect with college and community support systems. Here, you will find writing workshops, group tutoring sessions in math, and services for students with disabilities.

Finding the right career can be challenging.
