Financial Aid

SCCC's financial aid programs are here to help and we encourage students to apply for financial assistance.

Notice: There are still some issues with the 2024-25 FAFSA application. FSA continues to send out revised FAFSA records to schools as they work to resolve issues with processing. Please stay tuned as we receive more information. If you are having issues with the process, you may contact our Financial Aid Office at 973-300-2225 or FSA at 800-433-3243 or use their chat feature within the FAFSA application. Thank you for your patience!

All students should file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). File a FAFSA as soon as possible

This is your application for Federal and State* financial aid, which most students don’t realize they qualify for this type of aid. Apply early to be considered for maximum grant aid. Remember to file your taxes and your FAFSA.

  • It is free to file a FAFSA and you should not be prompted to pay upon completion of the application.
  • Most financial aid is not automatically renewable and a new application should be filed at the beginning of a calendar year, upon completion of your Federal Tax Return (if applicable).
  • You can view financial aid awards as well as documents required to complete your file on the student portal under the Student Tab. Use your Student Email when communicating with our staff.

Financial Aid Deadlines

NJ State Aid Deadlines (NJ Residents Only) for the 2024-25 Academic Year.
They do not affect your ability to apply for federal aid such as Federal Pell Grant and Federal Direct Student Loans.

  • June 1st, 2024 - For students who did receive a 2023-2024 Tuition Aid Grant
  • September 15, 2024 – for students who did not receive a 2023-2024 Tuition Aid Grant
