Foundations for Success is a course designed for incoming Freshmen. All students are required to take this course within their first or second semester. Foundations is part of a comprehensive program that initiates students into college academics and the responsibility of college life. The course provides an introduction into the intellectual, social, and emotional transition of going from high school to college, or from the workforce into college life. Students will experience academic and technical skill mastery, and be exposed to social/peer opportunities to become involved on the Sussex campus. Foundations for Successis a three-credit course.
Honors Foundation is a course designed for incoming Freshmen who are enrolled in or are interested in the Sussex Honors program. Honors Foundation will offer the same comprehensive knowledge and experiences of the Foundations for Success course, but will provide more in-depth exposure to topics and experiences for critical thinking mastery based on the current Phi Theta Kappa Honors Study Topic. Honors Foundation is a three-credit course.
The Graduation Capstone course is designed specifically for sophomores with 45 credits or more who are approaching graduation. The Graduation Capstone course offers students the opportunity to work with a Sussex professor to prepare for transfer to a four-year college or to enter the workforce and find a position in their chosen field. The Graduation Capstone is a one-credit course at Sussex. Check the student portal for all the Capstone offerings.
