Jenzabar One Transition

Sussex County Community College is in the process of implementing a new cloud-based platform, Jenzabar One (J1), which will modernize core campus systems, improve efficiency, and streamline processes for both students and employees.

J1 will serve as the College’s new student information system and financial information system, replacing the current CX system. From course registration to financial services, J1 is designed to provide a smoother, more user-friendly experience across campus.

The system is scheduled to be in transition from 6 pm on October 15 and Go Live on November 10, 2025

The system will be available only for informational purposes.

With Jenzabar One, students will benefit from faster and easier access to important information, as well as simplified processes. Some of the new mobile-friendly features include:

my.sussex Portal Redesign
The student portal will undergo a complete redesign, consolidating information. Students and employees will be able to find what they need more quickly and in one centralized location.

Course Registration Enhancements and Degree Audit
Students will be able to use a course planning calendar to check seat availability, instructor details, and schedule compatibility. A new degree audit tool will also help guide students in choosing courses while clearly showing their progress toward degree completion.

Other Benefits
Quick and easy access to financial accounts, grades, transcript requests, and even vehicle information—all optimized for mobile use.

Faculty and staff will also see major improvements with Jenzabar One, including:

  • Modern, user-friendly portals
  • Enhanced degree audit functionality
  • Simplified course registration management
  • More automated workflows
  • A secure, stable system that supports efficiency across departments
  1. When is "Go Live" and what does it mean?
The system upgrade and migration are scheduled to begin on October 15, at 6:00 p.m. and are expected to be completed by November 10. During this time, my.sussex portal will be available as read-only, and some purchasing and financial processing services may take longer due to manual processing during the migration.
  2. Why are we doing this?
Your my.sussex portal will undergo a redesign to make it easier for students, as well as employees, to find information quickly and easily. The redesign will include the aggregation of content currently spread across several web pages, therefore limiting the number of places students and staff need to go to find information.
  3. IMPORTANT NOTES:
    a.    All spring and winter registration processes will continue on November 17th.  During the time of no electronic enrollment, students should work with their advisors directly if they have any questions.

  4. The Sussex Portal will be view-only during this time. Any changes to the student bill or schedule after October 15 will not reflect on my.sussex portal during this downtime.

  5. You will still be able to use CashNet (for payment & billing), CANVAS (for academic coursework), and the SCCC website throughout this process.

Administrative departments across Sussex have dedicated significant time over the past two years to learning how J1 works and preparing our data for migration. Their efforts ensure that the transition will be as smooth as possible. Thank you to the module managers and team members for their continued commitment and hard work as we move forward.
